Dear Editor: We are witnessing in the Middle East countries countless revolutions, protests and demands for reform, change and more freedoms, more people participations, democracy and elections. To achieve this, which in the long run, the best for the people, the countries and for long lasting presentation for human dignity and accountability. One must start the change in the mind set of the practices and the way they govern; two critical issues must be addressed and changed: 1. Change the mindset of the rulers in the way they govern: from developing a cult of personality, the allegiance and loyalty to the ruler (king, prince, sheik, ruling family, president etc), to allegiance to the State, the flag and the constitution. Here in the United States, Every School, every college and every government building you would have a flag, a map and copy of the constitution, NO pictures of Obama or the current president of the United States. We often hear from the Arab regimes and their western backers that they need to maintain stability in the Middle East. So, what do they mean when the say “Stability??? In their minds, they mean maintaining the status queue of the police state that controls its people, having the treasury being their ATM, the country is their play ground, self indulging without limits, while their population starves to death, having a media that is their mouth piece, glorifying and grandizing their rulers. Having foreign aid pocketed in their overseas bank accounts. While the Arab people revolting and dying to get their freedom democracy and justice, The West (U.K, Europe, and USA) are busy taking the advantage and the opportunity to seize and Freeze the dictator’s money and assets. This is the Arab people money. The sad thing is, the Arabs - regardless who is going to lead them next, will NEVER see one penny back. So far: Mubarak Egypt ($40B-$70B), Tunisia ($7-10B), Libya ($60-$140B), the big one is coming soon and their assets will be frozen, the Saudis, estimated at $440B., enough money to balance the budget of the US and UK. The Arab people should be demanding the return of assets and demanding from their leaders to withdraw the deposits from overseas banks and bring it back to their home countries now. Your next article should be targeting the Arab leaders assets deposited in overseas banks. Have you noticed that none of t is deposited in any Islamic or Asian countries.
